 I'll be putting out an email to the youth hunt group to see if anyone is interested. I'd really like to put some of the kids with hunters who can give them a better day in the blind than I'm able to.
 Let me know if you're interested in taking one or two as a group or as an individual.

I received the following from the FWS.

Hello Refuge Volunteers--

You are invited to join us for...National Public Lands Day!


Who: You and your friends and family!
What: Litter's not for critters!  Celebrate National Public Lands Day by volunteering to pick up litter to improve wildlife habitat.   
Where: Meet at the Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center at 2 PM
When: 2 PM - 5 PM, Saturday September 25th
Why: Help improve wildlife habitat!

Bring water and gloves and wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty.  Please pre-register to help us plan the event.   

To pre-register, email deerflat@fws.gov or call 467-9278 with this information:
 
1) Your name and e-mail address (or phone # if you don't have e-mail.)
2) How many people are attending with you and whether there are any minors (in which case I will send you forms in advance!)
3) Whether you are part of a group (Scouts, School, Corporate, etc.)
